As of the beginning of 2021, disputes between banks or other financial market intermediaries and clients under the Financial Services Act (FinSA) should, wherever possible, be settled by means of a mediation procedure by a recognised, specialised ombudsman service. The Federal Department of Finance has since recognised the Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution (SCAI) as an ombudsman service for such proceedings.
