18 March 2022 - The international trading and services group Otto Group, based in Hamburg, has acquired a majority shareholding in Medgate Holding AG, based in Basel. Otto Group became the new majority shareholder of Medgate Holding by buying out certain existing shareholders and subscribing to newly created shares in a capital increase. AEVIS VICTORIA SA, which previously held 40% of the shares, sold its shareholding in this connection and left the shareholder structure. Medgate Holding is a leading provider of digital health services, including telemedical consulting. In the course of the transaction, Medgate Holding also acquires the German BetterDoc GmbH, provider of services in the field of medical quality data analysis. Through the acquisition of Medgate Holding, Otto Group is specifically expanding its digital services in the direction of digital health. The founders of Medgate Holding and BetterDoc GmbH continue to hold a minority stake in Medgate Holding.
